Expiration before used
I found that the cartridge has an expiration date. Because of the expiration date the printer will not work. Brand new cartridge will not work. So if you purchase back up cartridges, they may not work when you go to use them.
HP does not advertise this or notify you about this until it is too late.
It is cheaper to buy a new copier with cartridges than to replace all 6 ...

HP 02XL (C8730WN) Cyan Ink Cartridge, Hi
my guess is that the container costs 3x or more than the ink cost. Besides that, I have had several HP printers. THis C5180 is the noisiest, most inaccurate printer ever. This plus ink costs, push me to find another maker.

The cartridges are easy to replace on the C7100 and the newer high yield ones are a better buy for the dollar.

First time using XL type cartridge.
Easy to install. Not much of a choice. I have an HP printer and that's the cartridge that is required. To early to say if the XL cartridge lasts longer since I just replaced it.

Did not receive 50% more prints, very
two colors that seem to run out way before the other are the cyan and magenta so bought the high yeild in both colors, still running out fast????????????????
