A Young Adult's Microscope
I purchased the item as a Christmas Present for my 9 year old Godson and will be anxious to see what he does with it. I was pleasantly surprised to find it at Staples.

A good introductory microscope
This kit is an ideal introductory gift for a kid with an interest in biology. It's inexpensive and has some basic science tools as well as an instruction manual. A student can learn how to handle a microscope with his kit and graduate to something more sophisticated later. There are limitations some for safety--the slides and covers are plastic not glass.
