Colour transfers to hands
Turned hands orangey brown, hard to get off, so not using again. Tried the other Crayola clay and didn't have this problem.

Response from Staples :
Your disappointment is definitely understandable, Em. We, too, are sorry to hear your Terra Cotta Air-Dry Clay project has cracked. This definitely is not the experience we have intended, and we are glad you have reached out. While success may vary depending on the severity of the cracks, you can try repairing any cracking that has occurred on your Air-Dry Clay sculpture, place a few drops of water on the cracks and try smoothing with your fingers. You may also try filling in the crack with a small amount of wet clay and smooth with your fingers.
If you could please contact us at Crayola.com/support, we would like to learn more and help make this right. Looking forward to getting you back to creating soon.

Horrible clay
I bought this to use on a school project and after I finished it I let it dry and I came back to check on it and it had large racks all over it and I didn't have time to cover the up. I am very upset with this product. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Disappointing
I bought this for my son's social studies project (ancient temple). Everything was fine and it looked great until the next day when it developed several large and small cracks. I looked online for suggestions to fix (found none on Crayola's site) and saw that adding too much water could cause cracking. But he really didn't add much water at all - just a few drops for th...

Response from Staples :
It is understandable why your son's experience has been disappointing. We, too, are disappointed to learn that his project made with Air-Dry Clay had cracked in some places. This definitely is not the quality you would expect from Crayola, and your feedback will be passed along to our Compound Team.
There are several reasons why it may crack. Air Dry Clay will shrink slightly as it dries. If the Air Dry Clay is wrapped around a rigid support or armature, the clay gradually becomes smaller in size as it dries and the rigid piece remains the same size causing cracks. If you feel an armature is practical or necessary, it is best to choose one that allows a small amount of "give" such as crumpled aluminum foil. As you have stated, very small amounts of water can be used to fix the cracks as well.
If you could please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA, we would like to learn more about this experience. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Cracks with age
At the time that I purchased and used it 6 years ago for my elderly dog's pawprint, it seemed like a great product with a deep impression of her paw. Over time the clay has cracked and there are crystals in the cracks. It's rather disappointing.
