Why did I buy a refurbished fax machine?
Most people would rather have a new machine, however, over the years, I've found buying a refurbished model has been sent back to the factory due to a defect. Less than two months old it started pulling multiple pages through the machine. In addition, we cannot change the date displayed because we need a password. Whoever heard of a fax machine requiring a password. The manual contains no instruction and Google contains no instruction on how to bypass the password. Needed a functional fax
The previous Brother fax had given 10 years of faithful service and we needed a fax that would be able to take up the challenge. I bought off the Brother Canada site for peace of mind. I made the order and received the fax machine within four days and it has preformed flawlessly. I highly recommend this product and the quick service I received.

Refurbished....
I've bought refurbished quite a few times, only ever had a problem with one. It works great it sends & receives, the rollers function great it copies everything works fine. The $180 was better than paying $400 for a hot manufactured fax. Best $180 spent in a couple years.

MACHINE IS NOT A GOOD MACHINE.
THIS FAX MACHINE IS TERRIBLE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FAX OUT WITH IT. I CAN RECEIVE FAXES BUT CANNOT FAX OUT. I HAVE CALLED BROTHERS AND THE GENTLEMAN SAID IT MUST BE MY PHONE LINE BUT THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM.
I EVEN HAD SOMEONE CHECK IT AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY I COULDN'T FAX OUT. IT IS USELESS. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER MACHINE SOMEWHERE.

Fast and effective
Our old fax machine was as old as the dinosaurs! This one is great easy to set up faxes quickly! Wish it was a bit smaller but serves it's purpose.
