Unfortunately this does not fit the IPad Air, at all. Perhaps it fit an older model.

The iPad Air did not
The iPad Air did not fit properly in this case, therefore I did not feel it was safe for my iPad Air. I returned it and Staples customer representative very graciously gave me the refund.
