Easiest UPS choice for everyone
Out of the box, this one was very easy to set up. Even with a computer, monitor, dual-drive NAS, and a network switch, this particular unit seems to handle so much with ease. The screen itself doesn't stay lit all of the time so it won't burn out, but it does stay on long enough to see the info when needed. Having to manage it only via the APC site is a NO!
There is no local web interface, the UPS have to be allowed to connect to the APC site in order to be configured - this is a big NO in any security conscious organization.

Perfect application for powering AC devices
This is a great piece of equipment any appliances that do not have an internal battery backup.
For example, the AC goes out and you are on a treadmill. It just stops and you go flying.
This product will give you 15 minutes of time to slow and stop. Wonderful.

One of the most popular and stable UPS's
have sold many of these units and use one personally due to the large readout, extended time and online!!! can see what is all going on and has saved me a few times due to flickering and even during an outtage

A Great Unit for Smaller Offices or Smaller IDFs
A solid performer in terms of performance vs cost. Great for tight places that do not have actual racks installed but still need power protection to ensure uptime. 8 Standard outlets should provide plenty of room. The LCD screen in the front provides great info on what's going on and changing the battery is simple.

Heavy Duty cycle, well engineered product!
I like this product and use it for various applications that involve motors which have no "spin down capacity. Extremely reliable, well-built piece of equipment!
Deployed about 10 of these to a local financial institution who also wanted the ability to network manage all of the UPS's via the internet. The product is solid, with some software features lacking. Overall a very good buy.

Quality product needing better management software
This is a solid product with the dozen or so that our company has deployed in the field.

Great UPS but the SOFTWARE is horrible
I can never access my 3 APC SmartUPS on my network... it seems to theirs always an issue. Why can't APC make software that doesn't need so much maintenance to work.?

Solid unit but can't access via Ethernet port
I have 3 of these units in my remote observatory
and being able to view information on them remotely is extremely important. I wish it were possible to access them directly via the Ethernet port. They are too far away from my equipment for a USB connection, and one unit only has networking gear on it.
