Not backwards compatible.
Can't go from DisplayPort to HDMI screen.

Displayport 1.2 to HD Cable
I purchased the cable to connect my laptop to my office monitor. I dont always have access to a docking station so this cable was necessary. Cable worked flawless and picture quality looks perfect.

Definitely would purchase this product again
I will be using this adapter to connect one of my monitors to my laptop docking station. I have always purchased Tripp Lite products in the past as they are well made and you know you'll be using a quality product.
