Excellent wireless printing device and easy to put together and to use
A perfectly excellent product right out of the box. I have the device on my 5700dn and my MFP 5800f, and just a note, the first one you setup, please be sure you put the plug onto the motherboard in the right orientation. It should only give you one orientation, but I could see how someone with no experience in putting one together could force the small connector cab...

Not sure why HP have gone to external wireless devices
Constantly disconnect from Wi-Fi; continuous interruption in printing. We are using the HP JD 3100W with HP Color Laserjet Enterprise MFP 5800

Couldn't get it to work, returned it
We couldn't get this to work after hours of trying and even after involving our trusted IT services provider. Our IT provider highly recommended that we connect our printer to our network via ethernet instead of using wi-fi because their past experience with these devices was that they could be flaky. We returned the Jetdirect and went the ethernet route.

bad printer
I am unable to use the 3100 as the printer is still not working. I have spent hours with support and have not been able to use the printer. Therefore both printer and 3100 are at this time useless to me. The money spent to purchase these items has been money spent unwisely.

Not up to HP Standards
This is a very complicated product which has very poor instructions. We needed assistance in just getting installed properly and then it only works some of the time.

Looks like a great idea but...
I bought a HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M479fdn. Great machine but no wireless communication. I looked in the HP store for an accessory to make it wireless. It connects to a USB port, I followed all the steps as instructed but the FutureSmart feature never was loaded in my printer's menu. So the device looked good and seems to me like a great idea. As it turns out this product did not work with the HP PageWide 77740, even though the data sheet said it would...very disappointed as this was for a CFO of one of my accounts.

DID NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED
ADAPTER WAS ADVERTISED TO WORK WITH MY LASERJET M553n, WASTED MY TIME CALLING TECH SUPPORT TO FIND OUT IT WAS NOT COMPATABLE.
