Nice basic scanner
I bought this as a backup portable scanner in case my larger scanner didn't work as expected. I tested it at home and it works great. It's also good if I need to scan just a page here and there and don't want to use the Adobe scan app on my phone.

The worst scanner
The worst scanner. It does not work with iPhone 14 or iPhone 15 pro max. The battery does not last at all and extremely expensive so that it does not work wirelessly. I spent my money

Really wanted to love it but I hate this scanner
I've had this for 2 weeks. Took my IT guy 3 tries to set it up needs 2-3 different downloads but this isn't clear at all from the online troubleshooting guides. Could be a Windows 11 thing? Nice basic scanner

Not worth it
I enjoy the small footprint but the power cord is touchy as well as the actual operation of this scanner. I found myself very frustrated with the paper port feeding mechanism also. If there is a true need for this you can make it work but you shouldn't have to work so hard at scanning anything.

The 940 has problems taking the paper to scan
We have used these portable scanners for years, here and in Italy. The model we used the most was theDS 620. Three of those are 8-10 years old and still working. terrible, terrible machine
The software is beyond flaky -- it's just infuriating. I have extensive technical experience and it took me two hours to set this thing up. Some things just don't work as promised -- push scanning, for example, is a non-starter. The WiFi indicator blinks even when WiFi is connected. Best Scanner for Receipts

Worked for two weeks
It broke after about two weeks. I spent over an hour on the phone with someone from Brother. They were able to fix it the first time, but a week later, I was no longer able to power it up. Fortunately, I was able to return it for a full refund.

BEST SCANNER EVER
My son purchased this for me because of a genealogy project I am working on - he thought it would make my life easier - boy was he right!! Super simple to use, this is AMAZING! works great, scan to computer or to memory card - LOVE THIS

Mostly good, one surprising limitation.
This scanner works quite well. I like that I can scan wirelessly to my phone and my tablet computer, and I can scan to my PC.
The only negative so far is that it has to be attached to a computer to be charged. The same USB cable connected to a wall adapter does not charge this unit. I was quite surprised by the manufacturer's decision to place this limitation so I check...

Brother DS-940DW Scanner not recognised
Computer would not recognise the scanner, even after an afternoon spent with tech support. I bought an Epson es200, but that was not satisfactory, since it was basically a used item, so I am not sure about using Staples in the future for similar products

always goes offline
when it decides it wants to be online it works great. However, after 2-3 scans it ALWAYS goes offline. Even when plugged into PC. The time ive wasted trying to update drivers, unplug/plug back in USB cable, restart PC is ridiculous, brother should be paying me to use this product.

Needs more than what is supplied.
You really need the clear plastic envelope to scan receipts and it doesn’t come with the scanner and is difficult to find even online!
