Poor quality and poor design
Worked fine, then the fan started making a noise. It's virtually impossible to take the mat apart to fix/clean. Cheap junk. Works out good for Targus because people won't even bother trying and they'll just buy another one.

Works, not for too long though
Worked well, kept my laptop between 10-15 degrees Celsius cooler. However less than a year into owning it, it's not working as well.
The USB cable is poor quality. For the price and it's simplicity this is underwhelming

Helps a little
Works okay. The fan is quiet but I feel like most of the benefit comes from the elevation; the laptop still gets warm, possibly because of where the fans are placed. An improvement for sure, but I don't know if it's worth fifty bucks.

Works Better Upside Down
Good product, but it works better upside down. It's designed so that the fans blow air up at the laptop but my laptop (which is hella hot!) has fans blowing hot air down, so these fans are just blowing air at each other and my legs were still overheating. Turning it over means the chill mat fans are blowing on my legs which cooks them. So for now that's how I'm using it...

Poor Design
Poorly designed, lacks structural rigidity, the bottom panel has developed 2 big cracks on either side in less than 2 months of use with a 17" laptop

Keeping it Chill
Love the Chill Mat. It fits perfectly on my desk. So far it is working as described and keeps my laptop nice and cool and hopefully extending its life.

Came Damaged
It would have been a good chill mat if it hadn't been damaged in shipment. There was a big hole and rip in the box and a plastic piece was snapped off the upper right hand side of the chill pad. The mat must be somewhat tough because looking at the box it should have had much more damage on it. It was surprising how little packing was in the box.

I purchased this a number of years ago. And the first thing I did was disassemble and flip the fans over so they blow air into the intake. Instead of drawing air away from the intake. keeps the crown jewels cool
My gaming laptop is well equipped with fans already so I was never worried about cooling issues of my hardware. My PC's fans are plenty powerful, and if manually turned up to maximum effort sound like a f18 powering up to take off the carrier deck. Good size, price and comfort.
Reasonable price. Good size. Comfortable. Cooling fans work well, not too loud. Adequately sturdy so far, but hard to judge in the short term. Laptop slips off surface too often. Raised tabs need to be bigger to keep laptop securely on pad. Other than that, meets my needs and expectations.

This cooling mat is amazing. My laptop doesn't seem to cool down and I've had to replace the battery once due to overheating. It's much more efficient & runs longer when unplugged.

Keeps it cool.
Chill mat is a novel way to keep the underside of my laptop from overheating after being in use for a period of time. I had my HP Chrome motherboard replaced recently and a possible cause of damage was heat. The underside of my Chrome got pretty hot after a while. I will let you know in a few years if the chill mat is effective.

Great Product!
This Targus Chill Mat does exactly what it is suppose to do...keep my laptop at a cool running temperature, and to keep it at an an angle that is comfortable for typing. I have owned 3 of these over the last 13 years. Each one has slowed down, and gotten noisy during its lifespan, until it finally fails, after about 4 years.
