Ernesto deserves a raise!
Although there were issues with the unit, the APC rep clearly explained to me how this happened, and I understand. Nobody's fault, but I'm glad APC had this covered.

External Battery Packs are a must!
All of the external battery packs are a must for any compatible APC UPS Rackmount or Tower Unit including this 48V version. Not only do these extend your run time for a proper power down in an outage they also look great next to the APC UPS sharing the same aesthetic. Keep in mind that you may need to reach out to APC Support to make sure you are sizing the correct batt...

Does the job
Used extra battery packs for a few applications and it provided the extra run time required to power down sensitive applications. Make sure you work with an APC dealer to have it sized properly.

Great time extender when power fails
Works with the APC Smart-UPS X 1000VA Rack/Tower LCD 120V that I recently bought becuase my Dell Studio with Windows 7 would crash whenever there was a power flicker - my BackUPS RS 1300 sine wave approximation was not good enough to run my machine - I needed a pure Sine wave - this extra battery gives me enough time to finish what I'm doing and shut down in an orderly ...
