Solid
Solid UPS and like the extended runtime. The short depth is convenient, and I like the options APC puts out for various closets.

Perfect for Tight Spaces
We have deployed 12 of these units throughout a local municipality's newest building structure. We had little to no room in the IDF closets that housed networking infrastructure and was forced to use a smaller, wall-mounted rack, and these fit PERFECTLY in them. Uptimes temperatures and moisture sensors are all managed through PowerChute Network Shutdown Tool (.OVA) hos...

Size Does Matter!
When installing short depth racks (<30") in IDF closets or smaller data centers, don't forget that most 2U UPSes of 1500VA or more capacity are often 27" or more, which, with typical output plugs means you're almost out of clearance! These short depth (~ 19") series UPSes are just the thing, as they save about 8" of depth. Just make sure you have enough rack space for t...

Smart-UPS X 3000VA Review
Sold this UPS as part of a two server solution - plus switching and other hardware all racked together. Provides plenty of run-time for current setup with room for expansion. LCD readout provides plenty of information to manage and monitor. Excellent product.

SHORTER is sometimes BETTER!
Don't forget about this one! It is one of a select few models that APC offers which is over 7" less deep than most of the more conventional models (19" vs. ~ 26.25"). This shorter depth makes it ideal for mounting in precarious 2 post racks. It also works well in racks that contain only switches and routers that are of a similar short depth. The included NMC (or NCC) ma...

UPS Replacement
Purchased a brand new SMX2000LVNC to replace a failing APC UPS that was getting inverter issues. Setup on these is pretty simple, we use the network card to send out alerts to our ticketing system whenever there are problems. Decent amount of ports and the documentation is reasonably good. My only issue is, it seems like these UPS's are only lasting about 3-5 years now ...
