Works perfectly with my Mac Pro Tower (Mid-2012)
I bought the Bose QC35 wireless headphones and could not connect to my older Mac Pro. Turns out the Bose QC35 required Bluetooth 4.x, and the Mac Pro has Bluetooth 2.1. So I bought this adapter and it worked like a charm. I can now connect to my iPhone 6S and switch to the Mac Pro easily.

After 10 meters it was done with the sound or voice. No 50 meters at all.

Doesn't work with Server 2022
Despite what is advertised this does not work with Server 2022. I spent about an hour with a StarTech tech in a chat session trying to get it to work and we couldn't. The final conclusion is that I have to upgrade to Server 2025 which has full BlueTooth compatibility.

Does Not Work On My Mac
Does not work on my 2013 Mac running 10.14 Mojave, even though Startech says it should. I followed all the instructions (i.e. switching off bluetooth, inserting dongle, switching back on Bluetooth), but the dongle was not recognised. I also tried using BluetoothExplorer, but the dongle still did not work. Very disappointing.

Not what I expected
First of all, I don¡t like to write bad reviews but Startech wrote me several times to leave my feedback, end here it is. When I received this USB dongle I just plugged it into my computer since there where no instructions. And it doesn't worked. I ask for help through Startech's chat line, and a guy guided me to make it work, turning the actual bluetooth off, pluggin t...

Does not work with masOS 10.14
iMac 2013, mac Mini 2020. System recognizes it, but it cannot connect to any BT devices, simply times out. I use BT Explorer (comes with Xcode) to switch between Mac's built-in BT chip and one. Mac's had no problems connecting to same devices. Was hoping to use it instead of Mac Mini's built-in BT as it is too weak.

Drivers don't work
I purchased this, it's relatively pricey, but something I wanted regardless. but according to this item, which I purchased, I don't have the proper licensing to use this device, that I purchased. And apperantlly its a common issue as well, unacceptable.

Manual Driver install
Windows 10 couldn't find the proper drivers for the adapter and Startech didn't have driver download for product on website. I had to use the CD. The CD installer failed to install the drivers for the adapter and I had to use device manager to point to the CD to install the drivers.

Key get more than 30 feets
I bought this 2 days ago to connect my headphones to my computer and I can't get further than 30 feets. I tought maybe it was my headphones so I tried with my phone and it's the samething. someone wrote that it was unidirectional so I tried to align the "signal" with me. Same results. I used a usb extender... tought maybe it was the issue so I removed it. same thing. I ...

Hard to get, but works perfectly
Coaching Lego Robotics and only have XP laptops to use. StarTech has always been one of my favorite company's as everything I get from them works perfectly. I needed to connect Bluetooth to the robot "brick". My only concern is that it took so ling to get as the shipping company used a "freight carrier" for something the size of a flash drive. After 2 weeks, a superviso...

Good but not the distance hoping for
This product installed and works on Windows 10 with no problem. However was hoping to get 300' distance. Range with Bluetooth headset. Gets about half that. Could.be my headset but they are also rated as class 2 distance. Have not been able to share files over Bluetooth between iPhone and computer with it. But it don't need that feature. Overall am good with this device...

Excellent Device
This is a very good product. The driver software is very comprehensive and reliable. A big advantage is that it supports wake up from sleep function for keyboard/mouse devices. This is the first adaptor I have come across which includes this function. So far have not found any disadvantages or problems.

POOR RANGE
Said to go 150 feet I thought. I cant get 30 feet in a straight line of sight ! Second time I went to use it , it wouldn't work
at all , which could be pc or the STAR TECH I guess. Works well within 20 feet if it doesn't travel through a wall !

a few surprises
we defined a requirement for a small computer and purchased an ASRock BeeBox n3000. this design lacks substantial punch when it comes to distance for the built-in Bluetooth. the beebox is attached to a 42" 1080p TV as the primary display. since this TV could be used with a sickbed, it was determined that a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse were desirable. the distance was be...

USBBT1EDR4 is a very good product.
Mini USB Bluetooth® 4.0 Adapter is a fantastic product! Better working range than other Bluetooth receivers/transmitters. Works great with Sony MDR-10R after checking ALL of the configuration for USBBT1EDR4. You MUST install ONLY the last version of the CSR Harmony software; if you have an older version installed, you MUST uninstall the older version first. The new vers...
