Did not work with VGA Projector
I ordered this to be able to project my Samsung Galaxy Tab S onto a VGA projector for Board meetings using a Chrome Cast stick. Unfortunately it would not work as I had hoped. I could not get the projector to recognize the Chrome Cast to be able to mirror my tablet.

Failed
I have had two of these fail now. Each was after about 2 years of daily use. I have been using it to project videos on my laptop to a dumb Samsung TV. I would be nice if they worked a little longer!

Very good product

Finally, something that works!
After trying multiple converters and connections of multiple converters to be able to hook my laptop (with VGA port) to projector (with HDMI port), this was the only one that worked. I was trying to find a cheaper way to do it, but there was not.
The picture is clear, able to go full-screen stretch or extend (just as you would with a second monitor), and transmits fast...

Convertisseur vga-hdmi
Le problème avec ce convertisseur est que je n'ai pas pu installer les drivers de mon nouvel écran puisque l'application fournie sur le cd de l'écran ne trouve pas le type d'écran connecté à mon ordinateur. J'ai aussi dû débrancher le fil audio de ce connecteur car il bloquait les sons de l'ordinateur. Bien compliqué tout cela, Et dire qu'à ma première visite au magasi...

This converter works perfectly
I don't have any problems with this item. Just plug in right way. I recommend this item to transfer vga signal to hdmi.

Perfect Solution
I was out of town on assignment with an older laptop with no display port and no HDMI. Just a VGA out and usb. This was perfect for allowing me to use a larger TV as a monitor for a presentation. The USB uses power to convert analog to digital and doubles as audio for the HDIM.

HDMI Adapter works as advertised
As the title says this item does what it promises and provides a digital HDMI signal from an analog VGA connector. There is no setup necessary. Simple yet effective.

Worked flawless and automatically the first time!
I bought this adapter and a 20' HDMI cable to use Skype for an Office conference. The only problem I had was the need to change the Skype setup to use the computer's internal microphone, rather than the phantom HDMI microphone.

Works well
Works to connect laptop VGA port to HDMI display. USB connector needs to be connected to laptop and its driver installed before audio will go through to the display. Works well when needing laptop screen projected to big HDMI display in office.

Works when others don't
I've got three of these to replace the more expensive Startech adapter, VGA2HD2. The higher priced ones did not work in our environment (kept getting signal out of range messages on our large screen TVs) but this little guy worked 100%. I must say that Startech technical support was excellent in working with me.

Works like a Charm
I needed to convert the (optimal) 1280x800 output from my Dell Latitude E4200 to HDMI for presentations. I initially purchased a cheaper SYBA IO Crest (SY-ADA31025) unit from Amazon, which was described as supporting this resolution. That adapter did an "OK" job at lower resolutions, but at 1280x800, the screen displayed a "No signal" message on each of the output devic...

this one works as expected. Cheaper ones don't
I had tried 3 different alternatives before this one and was relieved to find it works. I thought it was a simple matter to change from one kind of connecter to the other but there is a lot of signaling that has to be right for Windows 7 x64 to detect and talk to the monitor/TV at the other end. Don't waste your time or money on other devices.
