Worked for me!
I have esata swappable drives and just bought a new Mabook Air (mid 2017) with Usb3 ports. I purchased these cable and plugged them in and they just worked. No hassles. I was very surprised! Highly recommend. They are a little pricey but seems to be a good investment.

Not Reversible
Will not work when connected as: PC connection is an eSATA and the disk connections is USB3 on Windows 10.

Great on Win10 - No use on Raspbian Buster
This adapter provides transfer speeds up to 90MB/sec with a HDD SATA-III. However Raspbian OS Buster on a Raspberry Pi 4 will put this adapter into Quirks mode (BOT) taking the transfer speed down to a lousy 8-10 MB / sec.

Windows10-yes...Mac 10.13.6-no
This cable works great on my Windows10 machine, allowing use of the external esata drive. But, it is not recognized on my 2013 MacBookPro running OSX 10.13.6, High Sierra.
