Very good for wooden desk
I purchased this item because I use my laptop on a wood desk and I was afraid that the heat would ruin the natural wood over time. This pad was perfect.. The cooling affect works great, but I don't need to use it that way. Just lifting my laptop up off the wood is perfect.. Terrible Design
Terrible design. Even IF the fans cooled the laptop slightly the design of the cooling pad is such that the laptop always slides off unless you hold it on, which is very uncomfortable. I ended up not using it and getting a refund. Save your money.

Keeps me and my laptop cool!
This cooling pad is well with the 20.00 I spent! I would always sweat from my new laptop getting very warm. I did an online chat with a Dell rep and they recommended this cooling pad. I no longer sweat from my warm laptop!

So far, so good
So far so good. Use it on a older "back-up" Dell windows 7 with virtual Xp mode for older programs i still occasionally use. That Laptop that would overheat fairly quickly. So far fan has keep it cool to function when needed. Actually left laptop on for 24 hours to test with no overheating. So that's why the 3 stars as not sure on actual fan's lifespan because of very l...

Good Pad
Cooling Pad is compact and quiet compared with other cooling pads. It does a good job of cooling compared with others too as measured by a temperature app on my laptop (Dell Precision 3351. The blue light is nice because it lets you know at a glance if your computer is running or not.

Use for a 15" maybe not a 17".
Seems way to small for a 17" , looks like a better fit for a 15". Lights are way to bright and no off switch. Other than that I guess it works. Does not fit mine .

Love the cooling pad!

Good fan, l but could use some design improvement
Very good cooling pad in general. Wish the over design profile can little bit more slim. Also, a switch to turn the fan on or off would be wonderful so we don't have to unplug from the USB port.
