Great Product for Smooth Surfaces
Great for the slick panels of cubicle walls. Tried regular 1-sided scotch tape but it would peel itself off by the end of the day. This poster tape is the perfect replacement, adheres to even the slick surface of the cubicle wall.

problematic application process
Nearly impossible to remove the protective layer. Had to resort to fine-tipped surgical instruments (a pair of forceps and a hemostat) to grasp and lift the leading edge sufficiently to be able to separate and peel away manually. Instructions on the packaging might help.

It doesn't do the one thing it needs to do
Bought it to put up my posters. It doesn't stick to the wall. It couldn't keep an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper on the wall for more than 5 minutes. Paper backing is also a pain to get off. Absolute waste of money

Great tape, application/dispensing could be better
Excellent product that I have used in retail and libraries for about 20 years. The backing is a pain to take off, as other comments indicate, but I still know of no better product on the market for posters or flyers that won't damage walls even if left up for a long time. I would like to see 3M offer this boxed, for use in a desktop dispenser.

Can't get the backing off!
I love this tape and would have given it 5 stars, but would love for you to make the sticky part the slightest bit narrower, so I can get the backing off!!! (might save you a bit as well!)

Hateful product!
I've spent 15 minutes trying to get the backing off and I have fingernails and a pair of forceps. Can't do it. Will throw it in the trash and stop the aggravation!

Will not buy again!
If you can get the backing off the tape works great for hanging compliance posters. Backing is very difficult to remove and ruined several pieces of tape trying to get the backing off.

The backing will not even come off- Do not buy!!
I tried for over 10 minutes to get the thick backing off and had other family members try and it is very difficult and not worth buying unless you want to spend 5 hours to make your tape. I have fingernails and it would not work. Also it is so thin and you need alot of tape for it to actually stick. Worthless and expensive.

i bought this product thinking it was removable, hence the name, but it most absolutely is NOT removable. it works great as a permanent bond because that is totally and regretfully what happened to pictures i stuck to a birthday poster.

Complete Rip-off
Reading the other reviews just now, Scotch already knows this product is crap and has had plenty of time to fix the issue, but no, it's still Crap. I have tried every method of application and no matter what I do, I cannot separate the paper from the tape without removing the tape as well. You have a lot of nerve continuing to market such garbage. I want my money back!

I wish I could give this "0" stars!
This is the most worthless piece of junk I have ever seen. It is impossible to get the backing off to even use it. Had to trash the entire roll.

Awesome product, tips for use
I've read reviews from people who have trouble removing the paper from the tape. If you place the tape on the poster first, run your finger nail or stiff object along the the edges and then separate the paper from the tape, it works like a dream. Terrible design.
I could not separate the top layer to reveal the sticky surface. So, I called customer support. The person was nice enough, explaining that you needed to "tear" the tape to break the cover, then peel it off. I was successful in removing the cover, but it then stuck together and I could not apply it to the poster. Take this off the market. I now have a very poor opin...
