Weigh the Options
Understanding paper weight can be tricky. It pays to follow a few simple guidelines when determining just what Staples copy paper you need. Clearly the workhorse of the office copy room is 20 lb. printer paper. Jam-resistant, this standard weight is appropriate for everyday needs and is perfect for large projects and mass mailings. If you are looking for a weight that is tailor-made for an office letterhead, consider sizing up to 24 lb. Specialty projects like brochures, business cards and presentations are well suited to 28 and 32 lb. options.

Brighter May Be Better
Copy paper is classified by a brightness rating that is determined by how much light it reflects. Generally speaking, the higher the brightness rating--on a scale of 0 to 100--the whiter the paper appears. Standard printer paper is rated a 92 and typically renders clear, legible copies. We offer Staples premium paper that is rated 96 and 98. If you are looking for something that makes colors really pop, choose a brighter paper.

Size Up the Project
Standard copy paper is generally letter-sized (8.5 x 11 in.), but there are numerous size options. Choose 8.5 x 14 in. for legal-sized documents.
