THIS IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE CHAIR THAT I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. I BOUGHT ONE FOR ME TO SIT IN AT WORK BECAUSE I AM A 911 DISPATCHER AND I ALSO DISPATCH DEPUTIES AND OFFICERS OUT IN OUR COUNTY AND I HAVE TO SIT ALOT. OTHER CHAIRS MADE MY LEGS SWELL, ACHE AND CRAMP SO BAD I COULD NOT LAY DOWN TO SLEEP BECAUSE OF THE PAIN. THE TORRENT CHAIR IS SO COMFORTABLE, IT KEEPS MY BACK FROM HURTING AND KEEPS MY LEGS FROM SWELLING UNLIKE THE OTHER OFFICE CHAIRS I HAVE USED. IT WAS SO COMFORTABLE I BOUGHT ONE FOR OUR HOME JUST LIKE THE ONE I BOUGHT FOR WORK. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS CHAIR AND THE PRICE WAS SO REASONABLE.

First of all, the instructions are likely correct. The chair it's self is manufactured incorrectly. If you look at the illustration that shows the back bolted to the bottom and shows the steel bottom mount, the arm that comes off the back of the chair is NOT supposed to be anywhere near the steel bottom. This means that the chair does NOT go together as it is supposed to. I only hope this does not cause any failure issues. Once you get past that issue, it is a GREAT chair! It is solid, comfortable and rolls very well.

I bought and returned 2 other chairs from Staples before settling on the Torrent. It's true when they say you get what you pay for. This was more expensive than the others, but worth the money for the comfort and durability. The first chair I returned knocked my back out and I suffered from sciatica for 2 weeks. The second chair was very badly made. The Torrent was very well made and sturdy which is perfect for a heavy set person.

the chair is good for my work location since i spend most of my time there, i only wish that i could lock the tilt at a slight angle rather than just lock no tilt or have tilt, More adjustability would make this a perfect chair.

you need to check the line-up on the chair when you are putting the arms on, I found that one of the holes was slightly off after i had 3 of the screws done and had to take them out to attach the 1 out of line and then redo the 3 others. Also the leather wants to cover the hole when you turn your head for a second which makes it difficult to attach, but with care you can get it done quickly.

great chair overall, very comfortable and roomy, but frustrating that an item that is produced isn't designed to go together correctly out of the box. The metal piece from the backrest overlaps on top of metal seat baseplate and if not corrected puts stress on the bolts and would eventually pullout of the wood in the seat. For the price, one shouldn't have to pull out power tools and modify parts so that they go together correctly. To modify the problem, I used a handheld metal cutter and cut the baseplate just enough for the metal backrest piece to fit in without rubbing against the seat baseplate. Wasn't that difficult, but again the consumer shouldn't have to correct the produced and designed product.
