Kodak printers cater to people who want to print and share photographs taken on their smartphones and tablets. Using dye-sublimation printing, these printers produce brilliant, long-lasting prints. The range includes portable and desktop photo printers, and conventional inkjet printers. Select the right Kodak printers and scanners from Staples® for your application.

Portable Mini Kodak Printers for On-the-Go Printing
Kodak mini printers are self-contained printers that produce full color 2.1 x 3.4-inch photographs. These compact printers are small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, and have rechargeable batteries for untethered printing. The printers use near-field communication readers (NFC) to connect with Android™ and iOS® mobile devices. Paper and ink come in all-in-one mini cartridges. The printer prints each color separately, ejecting a partially printed photo and then pulling it back before printing the next color, a process that takes around 80 seconds for almost instant prints.

Professional Results from Kodak Photo Printer Dock
The Printer Dock prints superb 4 x 6-inch color prints. This type of printer uses a similar printing process to the mini printer, but it differs in that paper and ink have separate cartridges. The printer uses a smartphone as its control panel, and has a docking station and a separate USB port to connect and charge up to two phones. The printer also prints from a USB drive, further extending its capabilities.

Inkjet Kodak Printers
Apart from the dye-sublimation printers, Kodak supplies conventional multi-function inkjet printers. These printers conveniently connect wirelessly or via USB cable. They have extra-large, multi-ink cartridges that last up to six times longer than normal ones. The printers are capable of printing at 4800 x 1200 dpi, producing stunning photos, while the scanner resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi provides high-quality copies. A smartphone application is available for printing and scanning from mobile devices.

How Many Photos Can Kodak Printers Produce?
The standard photo pack supplied with the Kodak Mini 2 Instant Photo Printer holds eight sheets of 4Pass photo paper. Replacement packs hold 20, 30, and 50 sheets of photo paper for low-cost printing. The same philosophy applies to replacement cartridge and paper packs for the Kodak Photo Printer Dock that comes with 10 sheets, while replacement paper and cartridges packs are available with 40, 80, or 120 sheets, more than enough for most printing applications.

Are Kodak Printers Compatible With All Smartphones?
No, the Kodak App is for Android and iOS devices only. Kodak Mini printers have NFC chips, so pairing with compatible mobiles is simple. It’s also possible to connect using Wi-Fi®, Wi-Fi Direct™, and Bluetooth® for older devices that don’t have NFC. Other printers from Kodak have similar capabilities, as well as the ability to accept a direct USB cable connection or, in the case of the Kodak Printer Dock, a docking station for extra convenience.

Do Dye-sublimation Photos from Kodak Printers Fade?
The dye-sublimation printing process used by Kodak prints each color in turn followed by a clear UV-resistant coating that seals the print and protects it from fingerprints and smudges. This coating means prints last a lot longer than inkjet prints, and are less susceptible to fading. Because the ink permeates the paper, there is less risk of damage due to damp and moisture. The longevity and quality of dye-sublimation printing is superior to that of inkjet printing.
