The Cisco Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable (QSFP) portfolio offers customers high-density and low-power Ethernet connectivity for data center, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, and service provider applications. The Cisco QSFP dual-rate bi-directional (BiDi) transceiver is a pluggable optical transceiver with a duplex LC connector interface for short-reach data communication and interconnect applications using Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF).
- Uses multimode fiber (MMF) as the fiber cable type and features a duplex LC optical connector for connectivity.
- QSFP transceivers enable high-speed 40G/100G Ethernet over multimode fiber using BiDi tech for short-reach data center connectivity.
- Supports data transfer rates of up to 100,000 Mbps (100 Gbps) and 40,000 Mbps (40 Gbps).
- Maximum distance of 100 meters over OM4 or OM5 multimode fiber for 100G Ethernet and 150 meters over OM4 for 40G Ethernet.
- Supports 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE) and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) over multimode fiber using a duplex LC connector.
- Has a typical power consumption of approximately 3.5 watts.
- Hot-swappable, allowing it to be inserted or removed from a compatible device without powering down the system.
- MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) compliant, ensuring interoperability with other QSFP28-compliant devices across various platforms.
- Operates at two wavelengths: 855 nm and 908 nm, using short-range bidirectional optics over multimode fiber.
