Clothespins and Clips
Trending now
Clothespins are essential to any laundry routine, especially if you have a clothesline. This clothes fastening device comes in many different sizes and colors, but they all serve the same purpose: to keep your clothes secure while they air dry.
Types of clothespins
Clothespins are available in wood, plastic, or metal options, and each type has its benefits. Wood ones with metal springs are the most traditional type and are very strong and durable. Plastic clothespins are more flexible and can be less likely to break. Vintage "no spring" clothespins are the most heavy-duty option and can provide a very firm grip. Plus, they look great in glass jars for laundry room décor.
How to use clothespins
To use a clothespin, simply open the jaws and clip the pin over your garments onto your clothesline, clamping your clothing to the line. The clothesline should be between the jaws of the clothespin, with the spring side facing out. When clipping multiple clothespins onto a clothesline, space them evenly so that your clothes have plenty of room to breathe. Solid "no spring" clothespins just slip over the garment and the line until you feel a tight grip.
Great for children's craft projects
In addition to their laundry-day uses, clothespins can also be great craft supplies for art and craft projects. They can be painted, glittered, and decorated to add a personal touch to any project or tracker board. Use clothespins as miniature hangers for ornaments or other small items, to hang art projects, or in the classroom for display.
