Not a good product
Does not do a good job sharpening pencils. Threw it away. Not recommended. Pencils came out unevenly sharpened and was cumbersome

Gets the job done
It's good and it's easy but the one problem I have is that in some cases the pencil doesn't really come out sharpened as I expected but it's ok really as long as it gets the job done then I like it. Definitely recommend as it can also work on a variety of pencils, such as a very thick and big pencil, or a puny one. All sizes can work and the shaving capacity is amazing ...

Small Screws
I had a difficult time installing the pencil sharpener due to the small screws being stripped by the screwdriver.

Staying sharp
I replaced the WWII sharpener I inherited. It was off center and roughly chewing pencils. I plan to leave this one to my heirs in a couple of decades or so.

Return first one
I had to return first one. For some reason every time it was used the outcome was the same. Offset point. New one works better. At least they are still metal.

Looks great but...
The fit and finish are lovely shiny. Unfortunately of the first seven or so pencils I tried it on three emerged with the lead shielded by wood on one side. Conclusion: the sharpening mechanism and the holes on the side don't share the same axis. So the pencil isn’t centered when it’s being sharpened. Lame. Gonna take it back.

Got mechanical pencil sharpener available no where else. Do not have to depend on electricity availability so important now.
Where else can you get this mechanical pencil sharpener in pristine condition? I am so grateful to have Staples as a resource for my everyday critical needs!

Just a old fashioned manual pencil sharpener. No need really for a rating. But it was difficult to attach the 3 screws to a hardwood desk.

Great pencil sharpener for those school days
This is definitely an old school sharpener that works great for those pencils to sharpen to complete our work. Durable & classy as it hangs on the wall of the classroom.
