I provide in-home daycare and am constantly on the lookout for fun, durable and educational toys. These fit the bill. Not sure about all those reviews with the smell issue, I am extremely selective about toys and there was no problem with these. Some were a little harder to pull apart at first, but they have been played with so much it's not really a problem anymore.

Should not smell and need to be washed
Nice but it has and Oder and the instructions say it needs to be washed before use. This doesn't make us too comfortable with the product in the hands and mouth of our 3 year old.

I would not recommend this product
After taking out of the package for my 3 year old two of the cupcakes.were breaking apart.

Yes I'd buy these again
Well made and sturdy cakes! Stored in a bun tin and have matching shapes.

Great product for kids that like playing with food.
Can't wait until my granddaughter plays with this. She loves playing with this at her occupational therapy and now has her own set.

Started off great but now some don't come apart
They started off great but now the heart and circle don't come apart. The gets get frustrated and even I can't get them apart.

Family favorite!
This little set has gotten the most use of any of the toys we have for the grandkids. I am buying another set to send to my niece for her kids. It has held up well and I have run all of the pieces through the top rack of the dishwasher several times.

Favorite gift
Daughter loved this gift! At age 3 she opened and wanted to play. Son is 2 and showing some interest with pairing shapes (he is more of a cars & trucks kind of kid) but does need more assistance getting some pieces apart. yes will buy again
Bought 2 sets one for child birthday, one for mamaw's house. Were not identical though. Example: icing color shape in one set is not same color/shape combination as other set. Her set Hexagon is teal, mamaw's set hexagon is yellow. Confused & frustrated her when first learning color shape matching. But very well constructed, durable, interactive.

This is my son's FAVORITE Christmas gift. He plays with it for hours. The shape on the cupcake matches the shape in the pan. It's great!

Good enough to eat!
We use these sorters in our kitchen play area of the three and four year old room at our daycare. The children love them. Not only are they a great creative play toy they introduce mathematical concepts. I love this toy!
A great toy! Not only is it play food, but also teaches children about colors and shapes. The icing attaches to the cupcake by matching up the shapes.

A must have!!
This is a great product for working on early concepts. Its a fun way to work on matching and labeling colors and shapes. My two kids (2.5 and 1) love playing with them and so do the Early Intervention client I work with!!

My 2 Year Old Loves These!
My daughter loves these cupcakes. She plays pretend with them in her play kitchen. But she also really likes pulling them apart and matching the shapes. We also practice with colors asking her to hand us a certain color.
The best part of this is that their customer services department is just amazing!

I would buy this product again.
Children love these! Good for learning matching skills, colors and shapes as well as a great fine motor activity putting the tops and bottoms together.

i would buy again
bought these cupcakes for my grandson because he loved playing with them at the library. they do have a bit of an odor but he loves playing with them and i soaked them in dish detergent with a little white vinegar and it helped with the smell.
