I've only had this drive for a brief time, but I am impressed with its compatibility in terms of playing back content on DVD and Blu-ray discs.

I spend four to six hours a day of database management on my computer. I really purchased the ASUS Blueray device to watch DVD movies and to record my datebase applications. But I was disappointed to find out that ASUS does not provide the drivers to watch purchased DVD movies, and their website is very limited if you need help on drivers. Wish I could play movies too.
I love the drive. It works great and is very quiet (as disc drives go). My only complaint is that I wish it included the software required for playing Blu-ray movie discs. I bought a Blu-ray reader for my laptop a few years ago, and it was the same issue. I can read Blu-ray data discs, but can't play movies. I had to get additional software to do so. Performs as expected
Seems like a good product but I’ve experienced the occasional issue where it will not read a disc. I had to downgrade to read UHD BluRay

Only choice of DVD driver
Good Blu-ray driver, thanks to ASUS for this amazing product. I can play my records and CDs from my task books. It can play nearly all DVDs and CDs in my life. Internal design is easy to keep and use it.

Major update BW drive
This unit replaces my 10 year old ASUS BW-12B1ST

Easily the best Writer / Reader out there
This is easily the best Writer / Reader out there, Supports every format out there, including M-Disc, DVD RAM and Dual Layer BD, if you work with Discs, this is the one to get

Put this in many build for the logo and the good black finition...whrite file number one but littre noisy for reading but at this price a buy another one again and agaib

Never had any issues with my drive! I would buy again no problem. It is a fast drive and a little noisey but not really that bad compared to the rest!

Great drive, and pretty silent operation
This drive is useful, but realistically you might not get a lot of use from it due to everything being digital these days.
