Son says it is a MUST HAVE!!!!!.....
My son who had to have a required binder for jr. high school this year says this is a MUST HAVE.....# 1 reason being that it has a expandable compartment on the outside,making enough room for his notebooks and paper on the inside,while still containing all supplies in one place.....the black was the only colour available at the time of ordering,but that was ok with him....

Laptop or tablet does not fit...
You described it would a laptop, and does not. I'm really disappointed. I have bought 2 of these case's for other ventures. And I have been very impressed with this brand.....

Great!
Seems to be sturdy and be what my 8th grade son needs to keep his papers organized. He likes that it has a holder for his chromebook, too, on the top.

Perfect!
I purchased this for my son in middle school. He loved it because of the easy zippers and long strap since he has to carry it all day. Seems more durable than his previous one, hoping it is.

Does NOT fit 13-inch laptop
I got this binder thinking that I could carry my laptop and work in one hand. My laptop, which is a 13 inch dell, does not fit in the laptop portion. I also don't like the lack of storage inside the binder. There is no place for me to put writing utensils. Probably wouldn't recommend to anyone in need of a binder.

My son's school won't let him take a bookbag into class.
So last year we bought this item for the first time in blue! He loved it so much he requested on in black! My kid is very rough and tumble, so we definitely had to buy a new one. Both of my kids have one of these Case-it Binders and they are great for what they need to keep them organized at school. The Laptop pocket they use as a separate storage area or other items that they cannot fit in the inside binder area.
