V Tech Portable Phone
Portable phones are not that easy to find but Staples had a good selection. Chose a V Tech with 1 phone and answering machine. Works great and volume is so much better than my old phone. Definitely recommend.

Did not fit our needs
I found this phone so basic it would not let me record my own answering message. It is a bare bones phone. It may be right for someone else but not us.

Instructions need more information
The instruction on who to set the time and date needs more information. IE who to get to the display.

Has lots of nice features for a good price. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. I did have to go online to get a bit more information. Wish it came in black rather than white, which I fear will look dirty soon enough, and even a damp cloth should not be used to clean it according to the instructions.

Will not mount on typical wall plate
1. Base has slots on back for wall mounting with wall plate pin spacing of about 3 1/4". Typical wall plates have pin spacing of about 3 15/16". There is no way to mount this on a typical wall plate.
2. Purchased this unit in white for mounting on the wall in an exposed location, but the power cord shipped with the unit is black. Looks terrible.

Great Phone
I am very happy with the new phone. It replaced a phone that was 12 years old. I have not learned all the features but so far, I get all the calls and messages. Thanks.

This phone seems to be very good - it is very simple and easy to use, doesn't have a lot of extra bells and whistles - just what we want and need. We like it a lot!

You get what you pay for
This is an inexpensive phone that does not work---the select button will not engage, the phone buttons are hard to push and when I wrote to Vtech to see if I could get a tip on how to fix the select button, they were NOT helpful. Do NOT buy this product! Too cheap.

It works!
Just started using this phone + answering machine, and I am well pleased with the sound and ease of use.. Almost bailed on a land phone completely, but gave it one more try with this one. Not disappointed at all. Would buy the VTech again.

So Far So Good
I purchased this unit as a replacment for another cordless answering system that failed. So Far I am happy with this purchase. It was easy to setup. The system beeps when there is a message that was not retrieved which is helpful to me as I sometimes forget to look at the LED screen to see if there are new messages.
