ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Absolute garbage. Doesn't find anything whatsoever. Experiencing the same as other reviewers. Finds nothing or the whole wall is a stud. If I knew where the 2x4 frame started or ended I'd just use a tape measure and measure every 16 inches.

Finding studs isn’t difficult unless you’re using this tool. As said by another reviewer the finder alternates from not finding any studs to classifying the entire wall as a stud. I looked up hoe to use properly, experimented several times and still very unreliable.

Ok product if used correctly.
I've used a couple of these B&D laser levels and they work fine if used the correct way. I'm a contractor and I see the stud finder often misused by professionals. The tool needs to be placed against the wall in a location where you KNOW there's no stud, THEN press and hold the button, once the stud finder is silent (some have an initial "tone" or beep to let you know i...

Hard to use it for a newbie
It does not work consistently Have to go over an area multiple times to be sure.
