Great product for kindergarten aged child!!
My son is in kindergarten and loved this. It really does make learning about science fun, and I like that it is encouraging his reading skills. My son loved the talking pen that it comes with and he actually enjoyed listening to it again and again. These sets are perfect for kindergarten but I could see a younger child enjoying it as well. Perfect for learning and having fun
Both my 4 & 6 year old love Hot Dots, and I love that they are branching out and adding science. Interactive and Fun Way to Learn!
I have used a lot of Hot Dots products before, but most of them were phonics or math based. I also tried some that have fictional stories, but this was my first time to try a nonfiction book set. Fun educational toy!
The set came with 2 books and a pen. All the items seem sturdy. The books are wire-bound coated plastic and the pages are laminated to stand up to kids. My daughter is in 1st grade so we needed to work directly with her on these books. The books included fun facts and will be fun for continued learning.

Great addition to Hot Dots Jr!
Another great Hot Dots Item!! My younger son loves the hot dots for reading and math. This is an added bonus to the hot dots family. Has great science information to learn with a great new talking pen. It really teaches kids fun new facts at a younger age, still age appropriate and fun. Has great pictures in the book as well.

Fun reading set for kids
My kids really enjoyed this set. The hot dots pen was great in keeping my kids engaged and attentive during reading since the text was interactive. The books were fun to read with my 3 year old and he caught on pretty quickly on how to use the pen to answer questions the book was asking him. Great screen time break for a 4.5 year old!
My 4.5 year old son loves this. Specifically the interactive pen is no longer the blue dog which he thinks is more for younger kids. Instead it is a modern and fun green thick pen which he has said is for older kids like him! HOT DOTS are LOVED!!!
Excellent resource that I am using in my Centers in a Kindergarten classroom. The kids love learning about dinosaurs and the HOT DOTS are something they love and have used all school year. The batteries last a long time in my HOT DOTS.

I received this product before our winter break at school to review. The comments are my honest opinion as I used it with a variety of ages (5-10). Great, but definitely for older kids
So, I think this product is great. I just think my son was a little young for it, though. He's three, and I think the material was a bit advanced. I'm sure he will grow into it, though, so I'm putting it away and I am sure he will love it down the line. My nephew is a few years older and loved it!
