This adapter isn't universal at all.
This universal adapter didn't work with our Dell laptop even though it has a tip that's supposed to work on Dell laptops. We had to return it.

STAPLES 65W UNIVERSAL LAPTOP ADAPTER
The product works fine, and has restored functionality to my computer.The tech at the Staples store in Gardner, MA. did an excellent job in diagnosing the problem with my laptop computer and providing the solution, the Staples 65W Universal Laptop Adapter.

Universal charger/adaptor not so universal
While it did charge -- although it took 1 1/2 hours to charge the laptop -- the laptop did not recognize the adaptor (?). Repair people said I should get a DELL charger.
