Not worth the money
I work from home. This printer is awful. It is made cheaply and falls apart. The paper receiving tray fell off. The printer doesn't acknowledge what paper is in the tray and holds up the printing because it doesnt think the correct paper is in the correct tray. Very sensitive and not user friendly
This unit is extremely sensitive. I am consistently getting error messages. Saying it's out of paper. It's for an office and I've had many complaints that it's frustrating to use. One time it works perfectly and five mins later all kind of error messages pop up.

After 1 year, no issues.
I am not a heavy user of the printer but so far after a year, it's done everything I've asked of it.
The scanning software is a little basic and clunky and it seems like it won't let you scan higher resolutions for larger images. But I'm sure I could use some third party software to get around that if I really needed it.
Apart from that, I'm very happy with it.

Epson Wide Format Printer
The printer was easy to set up and add to our WIFI system. The printer also prints quickly and the print quality matches our laser printer quality. The only slight criticism we have is that there is no paper tray to feed the printer with 11x17 size paper and it must be loaded from the rear of the printer and that capacity is limited to only about 20 sheets.

Great Printer for Construction Plans
I am a licensed General Contractor. This printer is excellent for printing-out architectural, engineering, designer, and other plan documents in large size. Maintenance box went bad
We bought it not even 6 months ago once the ink ran out we bought new ink and didn't recognize any ink.

Disappointed with Epson Printer - No Longer Prints Colors
I am extremely disappointed with my Epson printer. After only a few months of moderate use, it has stopped printing colors altogether. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps recommended by Epson, including cleaning the printhead and updating the firmware, but nothing has worked.

Solid and Well Built, Prints Well
So, printer is solid and well constructed. Print and scan quality good out of the box. Two downsides… first, software is clunky and not intuitive (WiFi setup is fiddly with many options) and packaging is very old fashioned and bad for environment - still using styrofoam that also makes a mess!

Lots of ink
Great printer overall, but ink usage seems very high. Wish I had read more reviews, but this was the best offer on the market for 11x17 printers. Otherwise, loving everything about it. Great print quality.

Terrible software
We have been struggling with this printer for years now. The Epson Workforce model I had before this printer worked beautifully, but the 7840 is a dud.
