Ink runs out after only a few prints
I bought this a few weeks ago and it worked great! After the temporary ink ran out, I bought new regular-sized 812 inks and only got 20 full-color prints--if that--before the ink said it was out and needed to be replaced. warning - buy ink with the printer
Although the Epson printer comes with initial "ink" cartridges, they can only be used for a couple pages. Epson intends these cartridges for printer setup only, and gives no warning on the box or in the online info that you have to get more ink immediately if you actually want to use the printer after you set it up. Tray one make a weird sound
This is a really fact printer. I've timed it at 2 seconds per page. There is a weird gear grinding sound when the top/tray one is used.

Junk/Nothing but problems
Every since Ive installed, nothing but problems. Paper jams, poor print quality, ink is expensive, and now I have OEM ink cartridges and printer is now stating ink is not recognized please replace. Dont buy, stay away from this model. It was on sale at 150.00 bucks. Go figure.

Horrible printer
I bought this printer in oct 2024 by Jan 2025 it had a hardware issue so Epson replaced it now it is July and now the replacement has to be returned for same issue but this time they are sending me a refurbished one. This model is a lemon and you should not buy one

Frustration with ink cartridges
I bought this product a few months ago and it was fine until the firmware update. After the update, the machine doesn't recognize the ink cartridges. I spent time on the helpdesk line and they told me to try new cartridges. Try? These aren't cheap to just try with hope it fixes the problem.

WAY TOO BIG!
My Epson WF-7720 died after years of faithful service. I journal for scrapbooking and LOVED the second tray for 12x12 paper! Unfortunately, the second tray on the 7840 does not hold 12x12 just the rear tray which when extended sits a good 7" past the edge of my table plus the height of the rear tray is an issue as well. So far so good
Easy to set up and the quality of the print is what you expect from Epson excellent. Have not set up the fax yet but do not expect any problems when I do. It is the same size as my old B&W copier and replaced both my old copier and printer.

Don’t buy this unless you want a piece of junk!!! I just threw my as hard as I can out the door. To heck with your maintenance box and other multiple problems. It can only scan about 10 pages at a time without a jam. I’ll never by Epson again?

Great quality, but Ink Hog
I LOVE the print quality and scan ease and quality for letter and 11x17 sheets, BUT I am very angry about the rate of ink usage and the cost of cartridges. Although I've also had a brother printer that was an ink hog, so maybe all printers nowadays hog ink. I put a brand new black in cartridge in it after the one that came with the machine ran out. Unreliable for the money
We have had this printer for a few years. Suddenly can't be found by any of our devices. Nothing we do fixes it. It's really frustrating when we used to use HP printers but decided to give Epson a try. NEVER again. My HPs were work horses compared to this.

Purchased printer as a gift. Wrong type. Wouldn't refund unopened box after 30 days. Why should I have to figure out how to resell on another site to get my money back. Shame on Staples!
