I am a 40 year IT expert and will assure everyone that these printers come with a 'starter' cartridge which will print anywhere from 30-200 before requiring toner replacement to either a regular cartridge or high capacity HP cartridge and HP requires a constant internet connection and account or the printer disables after 30 prints. Excellent Choice for my Purposes
Setup on my home network was especially easy and fast. This is a mono printer and prints double-sided very quickly. I wish I had found it sooner.

Not a great printer
I bought this printer 6 months ago. It disconnects often which requires going into my settings multiples a week to reconnect just to get it to print. Now, as of a month ago it doesn't print in the center of the page. I have replaced parts, cleaned parts, but the blankness always returns. I wish I had never bought this printer.

Deep sleep mode yields a Brain Dead Printer

Great printer
Never had a laser printer before and I love it. Compared to the ink one, this prints so much quicker. No need for messy ink cartridges, just pop in the toner cartridge! Best investment.

CAN'T USE GENERIC INK
It is illegal for a printer company to sell printers that cannot have buyer's choice of ink but apparently not HP!!! After spending almost two hours on chat the guy finally tells me that there is no way to override this printer to be able to use generic! I will be returning as their cost of ink is $100 vs $30 with generic. Extremely disappointed in HP.

Small but mighty
I love my new Laser Jet M209d. It replaces an HP 1006 that was my workhorse for many years. This new one is super fast, does two-sided printing and is small enough for my desktop. The toners in these laser jets last a very long time compared to the cartridges in the all-in-one printers. (I have one of those, too.)
