A detailed review fo the ET-8550
After getting repeated requests from Epson, I finally decided to submit a review for my ET-8550. This is my fourth Epson printer and I decided to purchase this one after my 8 year old XP-600 printer expired with a full waste ink box. I figured it wasn't worth sending back to Epson for service and it would be really nice to have a printer able to print up to 13x19.

Prints streaks both horizontally and vertically. Non usable.
Awful printer. Streaks both horizontally and vertically. Epson tech. could not fix the problem. Had to send it back.

I LOVE THIS PRINTER
I got this for my business to print detailed medical reports. I was overwhelmed when I unboxed it and set it up (took a few hours) but once it was set up and I printed some of my report, I fell in love with it! One of my best purchases ever!! I now use it for a lot of things and my laser printer is now a distant backup that I'm using less and less.

Step it Up, Buy One!
2 years and still happy. I had multiple printers throughout the years and this one is far the best. My last one was the ET-2850 which was decent but did not have the photo quality I was looking for but is good for the kids. good printer, must be wired apparently
I know Epson describes this as wireless printer but that is only true about 87% of the time (Per page printed). I moved the printer where it is absurdly close my computer and it will still fail by seizing up (usually after you printed about 70% of the document). Epson's only solution, is to wire the printer, (while not admitting that their product is defective).

It is OK
It was easy to set up. It's printing speed is a little slow compared what i replaced. The Photp Software wants me to purchase the Drivers so I can run that software. It should be free.

It works if you don't need to print anything special
Bought this hoping to use it in my craft room for a variety of projects including iron on, photos, etc. I had issues right away printing wallet photos on 4x6 photo paper. Great Prints, but thick paper gets caught
I've been using this printer for almost 2 years now to sell my art prints. PROS: I love the ink ecotank usage. I think it's great and I get a lot of prints before refilling and that saves me money. Horrible tech support
When it works it's a fantastic printer. But, when it doesn't.Got a paper jam, removed the paper and still says paper jam. Can't find any paper anywhere. Great product. Ink and printing
Perfect printing. Ink is fantastic and cheap. It seems to be extremely durable even scrubbing doesn’t harm it. I tested it with acetone, no running! It’s a very high resolution imagery printer. But I only buy Epson branded products.

Repair parts not available
Main tray got stocked in the out possition, Epson repair center cannor repair printer because the motor and gears to fix it are not available. if the tray does not work, nothing else works. Epson support gave me a 15% cupon to purchase another printer.

Details make it useless vs HP
I had high hopes for this printer, but two significant drawbacks made it unsuitable for my needs:
1) The color quality isn’t as vibrant as what I get from my $100 HP printer.
