SD Card Reader
I bought the Vivitar SD Card Reader to download pictures from my Nikon camera. My old MacBook had a built-in card reader. Not so with my new MacBook. That’s one way for Apple to keep costs down - just offer fewer features. It really works as advertised.

Technologically Obsolete
I myself am technologically Obsolete so when I needed a new device to transfer SD card data to my computer it had to have USB compatibility.

Item works great
The item works very well; the service was a failure. The Staples employee did not know what a card reader was and told me the store doesn’t carry anything like that. I had to find the item myself and when I showed it to her she acted like I did something wrong.

Plug and play.
My oldest daughter has gotten into photography. She wanted something that could plug into her iPhone 15 Pro Max and let her edit Nikon camera videos and photos on the fly. This device allows her to do just that at a fairly minimal expense. Was absolutely what we were looking for. Would recommend.

I was expecting to be ablt to view content then choose what do to with it. Didn't work easily for me. Just wanted to see the photos.

Dongle Selection
The store had universal dongle's but I discovered that Logitech mouse/keyboard pairing dongle is proprietary. Had to return the first purchase and order from Logitech.

SD converter
I was surprised to find that my new laptop did not have a slot to accept SD cards since I take thousands of photos a year and upload them to my laptop. Luckily Staples had a very inexpensive flash drive that accepted SD cards and which could then be uploaded to the laptop. It worked fine. I'm now again happily uploading tons of photos to my laptop.

Handy support for both USB A and C
I went in to my local Staples looking for a USB-A memory card reader that I'd seen on the website but found this one. It supports both USB-A and USB-C -- and it was cheaper! (It also claims to support OTG but I don't have a device to test that with.) It was exactly what I needed because I have an old laptop with only USB-A and a new one with USB-C.

Not what i needed
I purchased it to use as a thumb drive on a copier project there at Staples. It was not what i needed but i kept it for future projects
