Great quality printing.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this printer. I am a teacher and don’t have a printer of my own in the classroom so I do a lot of printing at home. The quality of prints I get form documents to pictures is amazing. It also is so much faster than my old HP printer. Cannon has hit it out of the ballpark with this device. Highly recommended!!

A complete disappointment. Canon is progressing backwards.
I bought this printer to replace a Canon Pix maMX922. What a disappointment. It claims to do duplex scanning, even has instructions for it, yet it does not. You are prompted to flip every sheet, push OK, and it an entirely manual effort. It scans slower than the MX922, also. What the MX922 did easily and elegantly, the GX 4020 cannot. The screen is smaller, B&W, an...

Consider this first!
I comparison shopped and picked this machine as the best for me. I was fooled. It is always OFFLINE. I can't get it back online no matter what I try. Go on to another printer.

Not a great first impression
It may print double-sided, but c'mon...MANUAL 2x scanning from the ADF? For this price point, it should be automatic. Nowhere in the documentation did it say it could or could not do this function. I use it all the time, so not sure how long I'll be keeping this printer.
First time out, I needed to print envelopes from the back feeder, which did not go smoothly. Sent...

Excellent all-in-one printer
Quality tank printer. Set-up was OK, but not great, as it took over an hour to get scanning to work. Owner’s manual is online, over 500 pages long and poorly organized. You don’t get an explanation of the various parts of the printer until you are over 180 pages into the manual.

Slow, slow, slow
I love that the ink is less expensive, and it has been running great up until this weekend when it is givingus a lot of paper jams. Not ok. But even since the begining, the printing has been painfully slow. A double sided sheet with single spaced typing on both sides takes just over a minute. It pauses for several seconds between flipping the pages over. I'm not sure wh...

GX4020 is a joy to use
Excellent printer and supper motivated support. They just need a better database of error messages. Finally, a search of the Internet for the error found a better solution than their dedicated support engineers.

Setup on this printer was an absolute breeze. I think it is the best Canon printer we have owned yet.

Temperamental
Bought this 6 months ago and EVERY time, it’s an ordeal to get it to print things off my laptop (or the family laptops). It needs a high signal strength for connectivity or forget it. I always have to make sure my laptop has not switched to a lower connectivity signal or they won’t ‘talk’

Lack of privacy
I realize privacy is a thing of the past, but when I configure "do not send usage data", Canon should at least pretend to honor that. Instead, I still see a popup that says data is being sent. So I guess I should give Canon credit for the honesty with a class-action.
Printer itself is OK. I do appreciate the large ink tanks.

Even though I have been told by the 3 people that I have had to stop by to help me set this printer up that it's a nice printer no one has been successful in making it print from my phone. We hooked a cable between the laptop and printer and that works. However I was told by the sales person that it would print from my phone. The second issue is that it won't stay On it...

The most frustrating printer I have owned.
i bought this printer 2 months ago, and have attempted to use the printer/scanner almost every day. The initial setup was fairly simple, as my previous printer was also a canon. When the website says it has "high speed USB" connectivity, I understood that to mean that it accepted USB flash drives like pretty much every other printer I have ever used, but it doesn't, w...

Sincerely Frustrated
Overall it prints. The rear tray and setting it up to print photo is a complete nightmare. I have been fighting this thing for an hour. Paper is in it, the RIGHT KIND SELECTED....still getting the "rear paper tray is empty" IT"S NOT!!!!!!!! I'm ready to toss and go find one that works. Such a waste of time.

Compact with all the bells & whistles
I have been a Canon printer user for about a decade. Each new one gets smaller with the same or more features. The GX4020 is no exception. It was a little harder for me to get totally connected but that was probably user error, more than anything. It is giving me everything I need right now.

Great printer
If you do a lot of printing (1 ream -- 500 pages a month} this is the printer for you. The cassette holds 250 sheets of paper and it is fairly fast. I was using the Pixma G7020 was constantly having problems. That model is good for 1 ream a month byt if you print more the GX4020 is the model for you.
