Easy entry into Windows 11
Bought this because none of the computers I currently have are updateable to Windows 11. Easy start up, so far I like it very much.

Mislead
Purchased this specifically because the Staples website showed it had a backlite keyboard. When it arrived, I discovered it didn't. Poor advertising on Staples part. Not sure how many other specs don't match as I'm just getting started. Check the manufacture specs before purchasing as you can't trust the Staples specs.

Excellent basic laptop
This laptop easily meets all my needs as a writing and editing consultant. Iām sure it could accommodate a more demanding workload than what I give it. The only downsides are that the keyboard isnāt illuminated and the promised 8.5-hour battery life is a bit of an exaggeration. All in all, a very good product.

the fact that it does not have a light up keyboard makes it almost impossible for me to use, Dark background with light letters are hard for me to distinguish Also they delivered it to wrong house and after being told that they did not check to see if I actually received it, Last time a package got delivered to that house we never heard from the owners. Touchpad sticking, keyboard and overheating
The touchpad/mousepad sticks and the keyboard sticks. I adjusted settings thinking that would solve the problem but it continues to do so. Often need to restart to get the laptop working again.
The laptop also heats up pretty quickly. Not sure if I just received a defective laptop. Others gave great reviews which is why I chose this one. Returning for a refund

Capable Machine
The HP 15-fd1004ca laptop is a very capable machine that meets my computing requirements. I allocated 4 starts instead of 5 because the the right click function on the trackpad tends to mechanically stick. Quality control must be improved to ensure that faults such as this are corrected before a laptop is sold to a customer.
