We're beary sorry to learn Charmin Ultra Soft has been leaving lint behind, Krisy. . The softer the toilet paper, the more lint there will be. Lint can also build up on paper manufacturing lines. We'd like to share a bit behind the reasoning for our new perforation style, and touch on the excessive lint that you're experiencing when first opening your pack. Our Smooth Tear was intentionally designed for how people actually dispense. While people do dispense all different ways, they typically are not pulling straight down on the sheet, but multi-directionally at an angle. The angled perforations are now aligned with the angled dispensing direction, which results in needing less force to dispense the sheet, vs dispensing the straight-edged sheet. As for the lint you're experiencing, this can come from one of two causes. First, the softness is directly related to the amount of lint; meaning, the softer the toilet paper, the more lint there will be. The second cause is lint builds up on paper manufacturing lines. In this case, we do regularly shut down our manufacturing lines to remove excess lint in an attempt to reduce the chances of it happening. The last change we made to our Ultra Soft was in February 2022, when we introduced a new emboss and innovated by using a new softening chemistry.
