The printer meets all my needs, and I was relieved to find it in-stock at my local Staples when my old printer died. Not only in stock and ready for pick up in an hour, but it was also the best price I could find anywhere.

Not Working Properly

Great printer
I am very pleased with this printer so far. It does everything I need without any frustrations so far. I have a Mac laptop and had no trouble with initial set up. It was easy. I can easily print from my iphone ipad or laptop. Scanning is easy and clear. I recommend this printer.

We got this to replace a 10-year old version of the same printer. They are workhorses. You can save money with third-party toner but not all brands are the same. Would not recommend.
I've always been a fan of Brothers printers however this model fails, substantially, in comparison to others. It is slow, pages curl upon printing (from rollers), ink usage is faster than expected, it goes into sleep mode far too soon, and always wants to print on both sides of the page. Two-sided printing is extraordinarily slow. Would not recommend.

I was totally happy with this printer until the included trial size color ink ran out. As many others point out you cannot print even black and white if any of the three color ink cartridges run out. Only had a year and had to replace.
Quality and speed were great to begin with but the toner cartridges are way too expensive and I didn't get the number of pages they claim I should have. I have a need to print mass pages monthly and this cost way too much. And just after a year the print quality has greatly diminished.
