Nice printer
Set up was quick and easy once I put it in the same room as the router. After setup, it's working fine in the office. I had HP before so I'm familiar with the brand.

I love HP printers!
I purchased a printer in 2009 it was a HP6510.
It worked until the beginning of 2025. I was so sad
It stopped printing black ink. I tried cleaning it that didn’t work. So I had to retire it I chose 8139e after much review I love that I can scan and save to my directly to my phone with the app. I haven’t printed photos yet but if it’s anything like the 6510 🤗

Support is fee-only?
Set-up went well, printer appeared to be working. Now it will not communicate with the computer, although both seem to "see" each other, all self-help/auto detect options show no issues, and the only way to get tech help from an HP human seems to require a PAID SUBSCRIPTION. May be my last printer from HP.

Print Quality is nice but...
The print quality is very nice. Printing is on the slower side. Most importantly, I have spent 5 times what the printer cost for ink in just three months. Specs say you can print up to 500 pages on a cartridge of ink. I am getting a very small fraction of that. I would not purchase this product again.

When installing, as wireless, on laptop and desktop computers the HP Smart App just keeps asking to many questions. Then you have to go back (physically) to the printer to answer the question on the control panel.

Old Ink
Setting up the printer was pretty easy. My problem was that the ink that came with the printer must have been old. I finally got the black in to print properly but the other colors never did. Luckily I belong to Instant Ink and ink is on the way! That will be the true test.

Free Ink issue
I am very happy with the printer and would have given 5 stars.
However, one of the reasons for buying this HP printerwas because o the free ink for 1 year. I was not abe o get this with theinfo provided. I cald HP for hlp and they were of nohelp at all. I fact on onecall the automated reponse actually ended the call becase it didn't recgnize my voice (?).
