Stop stealing from us
Every time HP brings out a “new” printer to replace essentially an “older” model with identical features HP changes the required ink “model” number. There is NO justification for this except it forces customers to buy new ink and discard any still good ink we had for the old printer

Skip the Instant Ink
Instant Ink is terrible. It enables HP to disable your printer. The II cartridges will stop working the day you cancel. After market cartridges will not work, and set of HP cartridges is about $100. I sincerely regret this purchase.

Issue with print heads
Within couple weeks of usage the print heads on the printer went bad. First started streaking then totally unable to print. The shortcut to scanning was also very difficult to set up as it took hours with the tech help. Had to return the printer and get a new one. So far it’s ok but still only first week with the new one. Frustrating: Shame on HP!!
I bought this printer because I trust the HP name and it was on sale and my old printer died. Huge mistake! Way more complex than I could have imagined to set up. Should have read the reviews first. Need to be a tech wizard to figure out how to set this up. Ordered a Brother printer instead and will return this one. Spent an additional $125 to have Geek Squad come over ...

Valuable printer
It's stylish and it blends well with other furniture. It's easy to set up and the HP Smart app is also handy and it shows you the ink level for the printer. Nice little quirk to point out when you open the door to access the ink cartridges when you close the door it closes like a soft-closing cabinet.

MORE THAN I WAS EXPECTING
This printer does everything you would expect and more. You can load the paper from three different places. The quality on plain paper is photographic. It much faster than my old printer. I still haven't figured out how to fax. The reason I gave it a #4 rating instead of 5 was the printer is quite complicated.

So difficult to set up that I return the printer
This was the most counterintuitive installation of any piece of equipment I have ever had. The starting guide that came in the box was wholly inadequate and even conversation with tech-support after I finally could get it it still remained extremely difficult. I ended up returning the printer

VERY basic
This printer may be good for home use where you only need incidental copying. But it's not fast enough the print quality isn't as good as I'm used to and lord the noises that are being made inside the machine! It was also nearly impossible to set up and I had to ask our computer whiz to help. I never would have been able to do what he did despite going step-by-step...

Beware of included ink
The ink that comes with the printer is only useful with trial of Instant ink subscription. If you use it and decide not to keep subscription you must replace with purchased ink or printer will be disabled. I did not discover this until I cancelled.
