Does the job
We had trouble with our older Wi-Fi printer on our new Wi-FI standard network. This one worked great out of the box and printing from phone or computer. Double sided printing worked perfectly. Great quality for documents/black and white print jobs. Have yet to use the scanner.

Works Great
This printer works so well that I bought a second one 3 days later! My only regret is that Brother won’t update the software for the 3MFC J480DW all in ones that I can’t use with current operating systems for Mac and Windows.

Perfect text with no smudges
The best thing I have done for my office is to buy this printer. I was wary of buying a black and white laser, since I have always had a color inkjet. The text is perfectly clear and sharp, and I am so pleased. I don't even miss the color feature.

For the price you can't beat the functionality
It's not as solid or as intuitive as some of its more expensive predecessors, but for $200 you get fast printing, fast scanning and a compact machine that sits easily on top of a small tabletop. Beware that the toner cartridge that is included is filled with only a small amount of toner. You will need to replace it very soon. Typing in your wi-fi password is aggravating...

A Problem
At first, it worked well connected to my computer, which is new, but now it won’t communicate with the computer, so I can’t print from the computer. I have tried for days to get it to connect, but I am unable to. Do you have any suggestions or know where I can take it for him?

Excellent but could be improved
Excellent printer that interfaces fairly well with my iPhone for scanning, printing, and archiving document.
I think a connectivity inputting passwords and other painstaking alphanumeric commands would be better via the iPhones keypad vs the +/- ok button of the printers command panel.

MUST fix the wireless situation!
The copier/scanner is top notch. The wireless connection and sleep mode could not be worse and must be fixed. No other wireless components go into deep sleep mode when the internet goes down or the copier is left on over the weekend. These small issues cause an otherwise great machine to be less than average.

Printer Broke after 3 weeks.
The printer stopped working after 3 weeks. The paper feed mechanism evidently broke. I contacted customer support. After supports reviewing the situation, they agreed it was under warranty and was going to recommend that I receive a replacement. I have not heard anything further. Since the time it is taking to get a replacement, I had to purchase an inexpensive ink jet ...

Works well
The Brother software is easy to install and easy to use. The scanner is reasonably fast and the ADF works without jamming. Prints and copies are beautiful. The cartridge prices are a good value and sure beat using little expensive ink jet cartridges.

Need better delivery service
I ordered the printer online for delivery. Only because the website said it would be delivered the next day. After purchasing, the website then said it would be 2 days, not the next.
