Buyer beware!
I bought this printer but found that it didn't have all of the features that I wanted. I never opened the box but when I tried to return it to Staples I was told than I couldn't return it because I didn't buy an extended warranty and I was out of the 14 day return period. This policy should be posted somewhere near where the printers are displayed not in small print...

Not compatible with older Mac OS
Not compatible with older Mac OS. Brother does not have a driver to download. Was able to make it work somewhat by using a different Brother driver but it only prints 1-sided. Duplex prints garbage on the second side..

Tech support was missing a beat
Re install:Took 7 phone calls before I got escalated.one rep said they could not escalate because I was exhausted after I was on the phone an hour. If you have verizon Fios it is best to ask verizon to more than refresh your router before attempting to install. Also brother Tech supt then said they would send me a USB CORD FOR ONE TIME CONNECT TO ROUTER. CORD WAS SENT T...

Disappointing
I didn’t realize it did not print double-sided. I previously had the HL-L23500W and it did print double-sided. Lasted me about seven years. I thought this one was like an upgrade since the other one got discontinued or else I would’ve purchased it. difficult to install on my windows 11 Lenovo syst

Easy setup.
Using a direct cable I was printing with in minutes. I was worried about a monthly subscription charge. Basic is FREE for 20 copies per month. I don't print much so 20 copies should be more than I need. There is also a rollover of up to 20 copies. Soon I expect to have 40 FREE copies in my Basic subscription. TL;DR: Pros: Fast, toner lasts a long time, solid wifi connection. Cons: Brother software is garbage, double-sided printing is a chore

THE WORST PRINTER ON THE MARKET
I bought this printer today. It will not work. I've installed as directed. It's stuck in "deep sleep" mode. Won't allow me to update firmware. I called Brother customer service. There's a 55 minute wait.

Big and just black ink
Someone told me to buy this printer when my other one died. This on only came in black uses only black ink and is really too big. It was free to connect so I bought it not realizng the things I listed. Oh well it works.

An excellent and very reliable printer

Zero tech help for an unusable printer
This printer goes into “deep sleep” after a few minutes and will not wake up. I wasted three days trying to get tech help with no success. They finally offered to let me talk to an “expert” for five dollars. I’m returning it.
