P-Touch tape by Brother
Tape works very well in 1/2 and 3/4 inch size - labels last once applied stay readable long-term and can usually be removed if necessary. Completely satisfactory for a wide range of label uses. Also available in 1/4" but have not tried.

PT-2040? Yes!
PT-2040 isn't on the list of machines that use this tape, but it works! I like the 18mm better than the 12mm for two-lined labels.

Fun Business Equipment

Love the label maker and the tape!
We have the larger label maker and have always enjoyed it! I really like this tape and the ability for me to create a label place it on a folder or on a notebook on a file or anywhere and it sticks FOREVER! good product
Use extra strength label tape on scale cards. The cards have a tough life but the tape holds up well easy to use on machine Once it's on it's on! Price of product is competitive also.
