Step up from my Garmin R10
I've been using a radar-based unit, Garmin R10, for the past summer. It works fine outside, but in late fall I attempted to use it inside my garage. I discovered tons of interference when I tried to use it inside my garage. After hours of trial and error, I just wasn’t able to use the R10 inside. Unfortunately, the main reason I bought a launch monitor was to use it...

Don’t waste 5k on this
I watched tons and tons of videos trying to find the best launch monitor. I ended up going with the R50 because I own the R10 as well and have loved it. Once I started playing on the R50 I noticed every shot was 10 yards shorter than normal. Then it kept having me 20-30 yards off center and when I would hit my driver it would have me slicing it. I’m a 11 HC and haven’t ...

Overall
I have had the R50 for a month now . It has been great there are a few features that I am not crazy about . Mulligan feature does not allow you to go back if you miss the short window . It is difficult at times to connect with the GSPro software

Another update and the putting is now worse. Can't figure out how to fix it. Good less than half the time. Frustrating

Perfect for my use
I have a golf setup in my backyard and having an all in one launch monitor/simulator is the perfect setup. No need to haul separate launch monitor and setup a tripod stand for a display. This makes everything so convenient and quick to setup. Plus it has all the ball and club metrics I was looking for. I find the accuracy to also be very precise comparing distances to a...

Great product
It is so easy to use unlike the Skytrak with which i previously struggled to connect with my iPad. There is virtually no delay in finishing swing and getting data. I have so far used it solely for practice mode in the driving range. Missed data capture exceedingly rare. Video screen is bright and more than adequate. Could not be more pleased

Great system, well worth the money
Works great, easy to use, good graphics

My only complaint is sometime the internal computer lags or glitches. If I try to plug it up to my projector before turning it on the whole thing freezes.
I’ve found easy work arounds but hope that gets fixed in upcoming updates!

Great Features
I spontaneously bought the Garmin R50 a month ago. Was waiting on the golf enclosure to dial it in. The overall experience has been amazing. The Garmin is very user friendly, interactive, and is a great way to explore over 43,000 golf courses. The overall rating is 4 out of 5 stars because I’m still trying to figure out the accuracy from the gaming vs reality yardages. ...

I bought the Garmin and Love it. It is so easy to get up and running. I only wish you didn't need a computer for GSPRO and other apps.

Great, fun, easy, accurate.
Have had a little over a month and completely satisfied. Easy to set up, accurate, and fun with any golf course you can think of. A few wish list items that would be nice: let 1 golfer be able to golf the entire hole then the next rather than alternate shots, if the 2 view screens could be 2 way hdmi external view rather than just one extrnal display and the unit sc...

Gone but not forgotten
I bought this for the features. I love everything thing about the R50. Set up, ease of use, screen. Unfortunately I had to return it. I don’t use it at home since I don’t have a sim. I use it at the range only and after a few weeks it became clear it is just a little too big and bulky to use at the range. I downsized to the flight scope Gen 2:(

What I wanted
This was a Christmas present to myself to help pass the winter and hopefully improve my game. It is a very easy set up and gives all the information on ball strike that I think anyone needs. My only con would be the shot distance seems a little short but it might be a matter of tweaking the system a little. The first golf course that came up was my home course. With Som...

The BEST for a reason
After doing a lot of research and after already having a Garmin R10, I bought a sim kit with the R50. I LOVE how easy it is to use and the fact that it doesn't require a separate PC like most of the other competitors. The user interface is so intuitive! I also find the accuracy to be very, very good. Home Tee Hero - the course software that comes with the unit - is ...

Incredibly pleased with the ease of setup, range of data and the course subscription. This unit has everything all on a plug and play machine with an LCD screen that doesn’t sacrifice anything for its user friendly setup. The carry bag is a great touch and completely first class. Truly astonishing.

Course graphics and play
I previously owned the Garmin r10 and recently just upgraded to the Garmin r50. Huge difference in the graphics. With 42,000 courses to play it’s a no brainer. The graphics are a big upgrade from the Garmin r10. The accuracy on the r50 is a lot more accurate compared to the r10 a well. What I really like most about it is that I don’t need to buy a gaming computer, every...

I ordered this with very high expectations
1). The Harmon built in interface is awesome. In my opinion this makes the price extremely reasonable, since I don’t need a separate p.c.
2).
The first few times I used the r50,
I thought it was broken. Every shot went short and left.
I realized several things:
A. The r50 alignment was a tad off
B. My swing (path and face) were off
C. I was hitting each shot a t...

An Upgrade Over the Original SkyTrak
I purchased the Approach R50 as I wanted to upgrade from the SkyTrak I’d had for about 8 years. After about a month of use, I can safely say the Approach R50 suits my needs to a tee. Versus the SkyTrak, I hardly ever get a misread (even when putting) and the yardages and data seem more accurate and consistent. The available club and ball data are extensive. Response...
