Another Brother Winner
Excellent speed, quality of text, duplex. Noise level quite reasonable. Set up instructions accurate but not as clear as some competitors offerings. I’ve used brother laser printers for over 20 years and can testify to their reliability- can’t go wrong with this product!!

My first laser printer
Great no B/S black and white printer. Runs off of toner that should last a long time given my printing load. I was sick and tired of having my ink jet printer either be out of ink or the ink had dried up due to minimal use everytime I needed to print or copy.

Draws too much electrical current for my taste
I've had this printer for about a month. On the good side, it's small and prints clearly and quickly. On the bad side, when it prints, it makes the lights in my home office dim and flicker. My previous printers (this is my third) did not do this, so I know it's not due to my setup. I would give it a lower rating, but I'm generally pleased with it.

Perfect printer for my home / small business
I love this printer. I first used a Brother printer at a medical center and was really impressed by the quality and speed. Since then, I had been looking to get one for my home, and I’m glad I did.

Incessant software update nags
the printer works great, the incessant nags to update software are a pain in the butt. This is a PRINTER, not a web browser!

Cannot update the firmware.
Printer is working still fairly well but we get the message that the firmware update cannot be installed. It gives some possible fixes for the problem but nothing has been helping.

Feeling spoiled
Never had a home printer that worked every time, no issues to sort out that raised my blood pressure. I don't use one often, so I always bought cheaper brands. Almost never failed there'd be a problem requiring troubleshooting research and a lot of time. Now, with my new Brother, I hit print, and it actually does! Wow! What a concept!

Do more research before purchasing
Thankfully I do not use my printed pages for business correspondence because I’m often missing lines of texts.
Most irritating is how difficult it is to enter the Wi-Fi password on the keypad when it mysteriously goes offline.

Very good when it prints
The one problem I have with this printer is that it sometimes goes into "deep sleep" and does not respond. This happens even when the Wifi is working well for other devices at my home. I had a similar problem with an earlier model of this same printer, but I assumed it was a problem peculiar to my particular machine, so I bought a new model, but it has the same problem....

Best Printer Ever
5 Stars says it all... I've owned a number of printers over the years and this is the top of the heap. Although I have not been able to set up a wireless connection via my Linux Mint OS the wired cable works just fine. I have every confidence that the Brother Corporation will correct the wifi/Linux issue in the future with an updated driver for the machine.

Falls offline often. Unsure as to why ? Aside from that it's O.K. No automatic feed and not sure if it will do envelopes without issue.
