Very Happy with our 7 cup model
I told my wife I was going to buy a Brita water filter because the public water in Ft Lauderdale was colored. I had a filter on the water for the refrigerator icemaker. I googled water filters and after reading them thought the Zero Water brand was the best and better than the Brita brand. I drink about a gallon plus of water a day. I picked the Zero Water 7 cup model. ...

OK pitcher but the lid is ridiculous
This is a decent starter pitcher for one person, but the lid design is horrible and I would warn people with arthritis or any sort of hand weakness away from this model. Instead of a handle, there are shallow indentations in the lid which are impossible to grip and will slip out of your fingers readily when wet. Heaven forbid you close the lid to the reservoir fully, i...

7 cup water filter leaks from top of filters
This 7 cup pitcher leaks no matter how loosely/tightly you adjust the filter. This is the second one I have bought in the past several months (since I thought the first one was maybe just defective) and both of them leak water through the top of the filter; it drips down inside into the pitcher bypassing the filter; so some percentage of the water is not getting filter...

Perfect size!
Had to downsize from larger one, due to my shoulder issue. This smaller one doesn’t cause me pain.

Pick another brand
I do not recommend purchasing from this brand. We bought this in late November with multiple replacement filters, and after less than a week the water develops a metallic and unnatural taste. At first, we thought we had a defective filter so we replaced it. After doing this 3 total times, the metallic and unnatural taste comes back after a few days of use every time. Gi...

Response from Staples :
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems such as a Culligan Whole House Filter to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter, in many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of Zero Water more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.

Top of the pitcher is cumbersome
I was excited to receive this as a Christmas present. My issue with it is the top of the pitcher is difficult to put on. The gasket was making it even worse so I ended up just taking that out. I'm not sure how important it is. When I tested the water it was at an 18 so still trying to figure that out. The water does taste much better though.

Expected a better taste though
Love the tester. The filter got the faucet water down to 78 ppm from 378 which is better but the water tasted bitter to me. I will still use the pitcher to filter water for washing, because it is better than Brita. The tester is great though - I used it to compare with distilled bottled water which showed a zero.

Response from Staples :
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. The most accurate way to get reading is to test the water directly inside the pitcher. You can do this by removing the reservoir from the pitcher and sticking the meter in the filtered water sitting in the pitcher. If you get a 000 reading inside the pitcher it is possible that the cup or glass you were using before had soap residue on it causing the meter to read above 000. If you are not getting 000 in the pitcher, try the following steps to see if you can get the filter to read 000 on the meter. Dry off the filter with a clean paper towel. Then place the filter over a clean paper cup. Run a small amount of water directly into the filter and test the water that collects into the cup. If the meter does not read 000 it is possible that unfiltered water got into the pitcher via a leak at the O-ring. In order for filtered water to read correctly there must be a perfect seal where the filter is screwed into the reservoir. Make sure the filter is screwed in from the bottom not dropped in from the top.

Fishy Smell After 3-4 Weeks
We bought this water pitcher in October 2023 for our household of two adults, and after 4 weeks the water began to smell like fish. We bought more filters, and with our second filter it began to smell like fish after 3 weeks. I see now in the FAQs that this is mentioned, but it’s really disappointing for the cost of the filters. We will use our remaining filter and chan...

Response from Staples :
ZeroWater's Ion-exchange resin filters are a reliable and efficient way to get delicious, filtered water. They work by exchanging ions in the water with regenerated ions from the resin beds, which can remove a variety of contaminants from water, including lead, nitrates, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, and other heavy metals. The exchanged ions bind with the contaminants, making them much easier to filter out. Our combination of cation and anion exchange resins can reduce 99.6% of dissolved contaminants in your water. However, when the filter is exhausted no more contaminants can be filtered out and an unpleasant smell and taste may be present. This is a common cause of overuse and can also occur by pouring hot water into the filter or freezing it. Be aware, though, that while the smell is unpleasant, it does not indicate any harm or danger. It is only time to replace your filter. Change your filter once the TDS meter reads 006.

Love it with only one hitch!
Water tastes wonderful. The only issue I had was the air build up in the filter. I was told to just remove the filter and knock it gently on the side which causes the air buildup to dispel!

Quality has plummeted over the years
Had one years ago and I loved it. After moving a couple times I ended up needing another one and the quality of the pitcher itself is garbage. Super cheap plastic and the rubber seal peeled off almost immediately. Very disappointing.

AWESOME!
I was skeptical but moved into a new apt in a new city not sure of the water quality. I'm so glad I decided on the Zero Water! My water reading was from 227-267 depending on the sink. Filled my pitcher and it's actually 000 Amazing!!

EASTY TO USE - WATER TASTES GREAT!
The Zero Water 7 Cup 5-Stage Ready-Pourâ„¢ Water Filter Pitcher is just what I was looking for! I was tired of the ones that hook onto the faucet with a special adapter because everyone in the household had problems using them and I would up having to keep them filled! This pitcher makes it easy to refill. You just open the chamber and let the water in!

There is a learning curve to using ZeroWater system. It took me a week or two to gain the ZeroW IQ. I found this results in worry-free delicious water. Far better than bottled drinking water! We absolutely love this pitcher! It stays full of clean water and it's perfect for travel. I highly recommend Zerowater products. They test extremely high for removal of toxins from water; even radioactive materials should the need arise.
