A compact and lightweight camera, the black Canon EOS R50 is a highly versatile mirrorless camera with a sophisticated photo and video feature set.
  • Equipped with a 24.2-million-pixel CMOS (APS-C) image sensor and DIGIC X Image Processor, the EOS R50 camera can capture images and videos with reduced noise, delivering clear, detailed results even in low light. Images look beautiful even when enlarged, with natural bokeh that smartphones can't offer.
  • Easily keep track of your subject with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II – a highly responsive system that covers up to approximately 100% x 100% of the picture area, breaking the image into up to 651 automatically-selected AF zones during Whole Area AF. This enables impressive autofocus coverage on the EOS R50 camera that helps you get the photo you want right as the moment happens.

Film to r50
Last camera I used was film. The r50 was complicated but canon manuals helped a lot. I’m shooting regularly

Camera Overheats as an HDMI Webcam
Bought this on 12/31/23 to use as a webcam through HDMI. Canon said this is possible and won't have overheating issues. I was out of town and unable to test it until after the 14 day return window and within 1.5 hours, the camera overheated while using it as a webcam through HDMI. Canon won't make a return exception, so I'm left having to hope that a firmware update ...

A Good Travel Camera
It has a pop-up flash, fully articulating back and is small size. It is a good camera for casual shooting and a travel companion. Canon's does not offer any prime RFS lenses. The zooms are limited also. I like 1.4 to 1.8 lens for interior shooting and a macro for flowers/stamps/coins.

Very nice for the price
I've got an M6 which I love and use for hiking -- it clips on my backpack and is both small and light. Of course the "M" series is discontinued -- my daughter wanted something similar. We're both Canon shooters with plenty of other cameras for the last 20 years. This was what I got her to fill the bill; its very close in size with the kit lens to the M6, and she love...

Great camera and lens kit
I upgraded from a DSLR (Canon 90D) and prefer the mirrorless Canon R50. It's more sensitive, MUCH lighter, "smarter" (can do more automatically), fits in my pocket with this lens retracted, and is just a nice companion.
With the 90D, it's so heavy that I'd have to consciously think "Do I really want to lug a camera around today?" But the R50 just comes with me no matt...

Great product
The product is absolutely amazing and has worked great for me! If I had to say one con of this product I would say that this product is simple. Not a bad thing, but it limits some of the features on the camera that can be found on other products still a great product and I definitely recommend to beginners and intermediate photographers

This is a really nice camera, and if I was unaware that I bought a refurbished one, I would not be able to tell is wasn't brand new. I looks and operates great. Very happy with my purchase.

Good beginner set.
Good starter camera, i haven't used a camera in 15 years i am getting back into photography and this is a good start. I am enjoying getting all of the settings relearned, and the video is pretty nice.

The Canon R50 is a budget camera that produces professional results!
This is a very underrated mirrorless camera. Fabulous Digic X processor and Dual Pixel Autofocus is incredible. Set it up for eye focus and AUTO detecting people, autos, etc. and it is mind blowing how well it works. I even use it in an underwater housing and it finds creatures and divers eyes easily! The touch screen is so fast and adjusting parameters is easy. Even ...

Not impressed
I received the camera about a month ago and so far my iPhone 14 ProMax is taking much better pictures than this Canon. Since I missed the return window, I'm stuck with it.

Great upgrade from previous canon camera
Its a great camera, i switched from using a canon t100 to the canon r50 and the autofocus is amazing, along with that i like having the availability of the microphone jack and the screen in the viewfinder as well. Another thing to add on to that is that the screen quality is a huge upgrade from using the t100.

Great beginner/budget option but possibly a little too compact
This is a very compact camera and lens combo and very ideal if you need something lightweight and discreet to shoot with. I bought this for my wife as a beginner and upgrade from a T6 and it was easy for her to use on our trip to Europe.
The kit lens is very basic in the look and feel and we ended up using the RF 24-105 that I already had which made a huge difference, ...

Compact but Capable and Budget-Friendly
I was looking for a lightweight yet capable camera for video and stills. The R50 has proven pretty handy for both purposes and is definitely a lot more lightweight than the other setups I have.
The stills in particular have been impressive, with most pictures coming out sharp and detailed. It struggles with noise at higher ISO levels (3200+), but it has done the job w...

It's perfect for me
Great performance from a small package! Subject detection and eye tracking has been a game changer for me (coming from a DSLR) Low noise even when the ISO needs to be high. I have no complaints other than that the buttons were a little smaller than what I was expecting. Would definitely buy again! I use the 18-45mm kit, the 50mm prime 1.8, and the 100-400 (all RF Lenses...
