Too slow for an office printer
It is too slow for an office printer it curls up envelope and card stock documents which is not very presentable.

Too slow for an office printer
It is too slow for an office printer it curls up envelope and card stock documents which is not very presentable.

Replace/upgrade our workhouse.
This was a slight upgrade from of well-loved and well-used 8900. So we knew what we were getting in to.

Excellent packaging set up and print quality (including color). Print and scan from MacBook Pro (via Brother iPrint&Scan) works great. Scan from device to MacBook Pro DOES NOT work. Easy setup and go!

I am excited we have our replacement machine. Our other one went out when we had a power surge at the office. This works great and was reasonably priced!

Very frustrating
So the printer and fax and scanner are great if you’re using your computer or phone. I cannot figure out how to use the actual buttons on the machine itself. They won’t work. Tried calling support several times and they’re not in on the weekends.

Doesn't work; terrible support
Within three months of installing this printer it began to fail. Smudging all along one edge shadow repeats of text pink shading on any color printed page toner that won't bond and is rubbed off on your hands. Great printer at a reasonable price
I was in the market to upgrade to a color printer from my MFC-L5850DW and it was between this and the EcoTank ET-5170/5180. Ultimately I went with this as my printing habits aren't well suited for an inkjet printer (plus the extra PPM when I do print is extremely nice) and I didn't feel like ruining a $600+ investment. So far so good!
Have had the copier for a little more than a week -- and so far it's been great. Easy to set up B/W copies look terrific (have yet to make color copies) it's quiet and has numerous useful features. If you're shopping for a copier consider this one.

doesn't print post cards
told the rep we needed a printer that prints post cards it does but it doesn't have full bleed so we can't print business cards and it smudges in the middle and the tray only holds about 10 or so of the card stock. As a printer it's fast but that's not what we need it for.

Brother Laser printer
We have had this for a month but it was super easy to connect to PCs and phones. The quality is good. Much better than our ink jet printers

Brother will break your printer!!!
They sent an update that destroyed the printer literally 1 month after warranty. Never buy a brother product!!!!

Thought it was ok
Purchased July 2023 seemed fine slow and loud but worked without issue. Oct 2024- receiving a "replace Laser" error & will work and then with beep and freeze. Just missed the 1 yr warranty. Will need a purchase another printer for our office will not be purchasing again.
