Easy/peasy
These bins make the kitchen a far tidier place as you have two bins in one.

Great Trash Can
This is one of the best kitchen trash cans you can buy if you value quality and design. It feels extremely well-built, with a sturdy steel pedal and a smooth, silent lid that closes effortlessly every time. Perfect placement
There are obviously excellent features that we appreciate, but for us it’s the placement in our kitchen that makes us happy. As opposed to looking like a trash can, it looks more like a kitchen appliance. We put it next to our refrigerator where it fits snug along the wall and is easily accessible, hardly noticeable but always there ready to receive!

The 58L Recycler is great;
The 58L Recycler is great; convenient. I use only for recycling to separate bottle/cans from other plastics.

Good warranty
My trash lid opening mechanism completely broke into piece after basic use which was wild. I messaged simplehuman and after verifying some info they sent a replacement. I was satisfied with their approach and suggest you give them a chance to make things right. Love the replacement.

Great can, awesome warranty coverage
I'm on my 3rd version of this can. We really like it, works well in our kitchen. We are having our kitchen completely redone with new cabinets this summer, but told the contractor to NOT install a trash can cabinet, since this works so well. Sleek trash can
I love the look of this trashcan. The only problem, with my household of 5, the recycling bin doesn’t fit the amount of trash we produce. It gets full to overflowing everyday.

Well made, but felt cramped to use for trash
We had gotten so used to our oval simplehuman trash can (no longer available), that trying to scrape plates into the trash side of the 58L step recycler felt like a down-grade. We are keeping the recycler though and hope that the replacement blue bins are back in stock soon so we can just use both sides for recycling.

Space saver all in one bin.
The size is perfect for my kitchen. I am quite an eager recycler and find this bin great because it's all in one space.
I wish the bin lid would open a bit wider though and stay up especially when putting a few bits in.
I do like the cosmetic look.

Love the finish but not that durable.
This is my second 58L step recycler and I honestly love them! Our first one we had was in the stainless finish. We bought it about 5-6 years ago and about 5 years in the hinge went and it would no longer pick up. Thankfully for simplehumans warranty I was able to get a replacement swiftly. I opted for the matte black finish, as my kitchen fixtures are black. Sadly not e...

It’s great to have a sleek, unobtrusive, and nice-looking container with plenty of room for both trash and recyclables. The engineering of it is super.
